Empire Total War Graphics Stuck On Medium

Total War Empire Graphics Problems
When I go to graphics options I'm only allowed to set graphics to 'low' and 'medium', not 'high' and 'ultra'. How can I set graphic levels to above 'medium'? I have a new quad-core computer with almost 4000 RAM and a good graphics card. For Empire: Total War on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled 'Unit graphic problem'.

Fane death knight build. I'michael not really computer literate but I was extremely disapointed when I bought my brand-new computer and came to find Empire: Total War has been fighting to reach the degree of gameplay I was planning on from it.
